If you have chosen to take advantage of this upgrade, or would like to take advantage, read further on the basics of endsheets.
There are two kinds of endsheets based on the style of cover you choose.
1. Printed Endsheets
Printed Endsheets are for books with a hardcover package. The endsheets are used to help attach the cover to the book content, and you have the ability to completely design these endsheets if you choose the upgrade.
If you have chosen not to take the upgrade, these endsheets will remain a blank white paper. These pages appear before the first page of your book, and after the last page of your book, each with the size of a spread in your book.
2. Inside Printing
Inside Printing is for books with a softcover package. These pages, like the Printed Endsheets, are up to you to design, and they appear before your first page and after your last page. The difference here is that inside printing is actually part of the cover itself.
Production prints the cover as though it were double-sided printing. This also means that each end appears as 1 page in size in your book, rather than a spread.
Once you’ve chosen to add one of these upgrades, the pages will be available from both the Manage Ladder page as well as the EDOnline Page Design section. Both show the previews before the First Page of your book, but below the Cover. You may notice that the endsheets pages appear in the cover section when you Select Page in the Designer.
Printed Endsheets will appear as two files about the size of a regular spread, whereas inside printing will include both the front and back inside in one file. You can click on the previews to enter the designer like normal and begin designing your pages.
