Book Configurator: helps you add a pre-designed theme to your book. You can look in our library of themes and pick templates, backgrounds, and clipart to fill your book.

You can also change your designer type to Flash if you need to do so, take a Eguide tour of the designer, and look at useful keyboard shortcuts we have available.
Now that you have a better understanding of the top tool bar, take a look at the tool bar on the left side of the page:
The buttons under ‘Insert Items’ place a object or frame onto your page:
Under ‘Insert Items’ is the ‘Actions’ Section of the designer:
Manage People allows you to manage your people page data right from the designer. Do things like add a new person, edit person details, or upload data.
To see what your page will look like in print, go into preview mode. Preview mode removes any guidelines from your page.
Quickly build a page with page builder. add photos, choose a template, preview your page then build your page.
If you need to move the order of your pages, use the move pages button. You can move your whole spread with standard page moves, or a single page with advanced page moves. To learn more about page moves, click here.
There are 2 layers to ever page in EDO, the main layer where you design most of your page, and the background layer where you design specifically your background. You can add things to your background layer by right clicking on an object. Click here for more information on background layer
If you would like to add a gird of drop photo boxes and text boxes, use the auto grid tool. This is especially useful when you are laying out your people pages.
If you notice content is missing from a page you saved, or you would like to go back to a previous version of you page, use the recover pages tool to go back to an old version of your page.
Now that you understand the buttons on your page, take a look at the actual page itself. You will notice that there are 3 lines around the page:
Safety Line : The purple safety line is where you want to keep all content that you don’t accidentally want getting cut off in production. Keep things like text boxes and images in this line.
Cut Line: The black line is where we physically cut the pages in production
Bleed Line: The red bleed line is where you are going to want to extend all backgrounds to. The bleed line exists so that when we are making your books, if we don’t cut exactly on the black cut line, there are no white slivers of paper on your page.
Now that you have a better understanding of you page, start designing your first page! The best way to familiarize yourself with the EDO designer is to start using it! Explore, and have fun!
